One of Los Angeles's Historic-Cultural Monuments, Barnsdall is home to the Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery, famed architect Frank Lloyd Wright's Hollyhock House (a National Historic Landmark), the Barnsdall Gallery Theatre, and the Barnsdall Art Center. Run by the Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs, Barnsdall offers a multitude of exhibitions, events, and instruction, both paid and free, for the sake of promoting artistic awareness and development in Southern California's culturally diverse populace.
